Cancellation Policy | Owners

Equipment owners are expected to respond promptly to rental requests. This policy outlines the expectations for communication and the consequences of non-responsiveness.

1. Response Timeframe:

  • Weekday Orders: Equipment owners must respond to rental orders within 24 hours of receiving a booking notification via email or text message/SMS during the work week (Monday to Friday).
  • Weekend Orders: For orders placed after business hours on a Friday or anytime during the weekend, equipment owners are required to respond no later than 5 p.m. PST at the end of the business day on Monday.
  • A response includes confirming availability and accepting the rental to fulfill the order.

2. Non-Responsiveness and Fees:

  • Failure to Respond: If an equipment owner does not respond within the required timeframe, Rubbl reserves the right to:
    • Charge a $200 fee to the equipment owner at Rubbl's discretion for the following reasons:
      • The owner fails to respond within the specified timeframe.
      • The equipment is already in use and unavailable for the rental period.
      • The equipment has been sold and is no longer available.
      • The owner declines the order, seeking a higher rental rate or commission, despite having set the rental rate and agreed to Rubbl’s commission and fees during the onboarding process.

3. Exceptions:

  • Distance Considerations: This policy does not apply if the rental location is beyond the equipment owner's service area or comfort zone within reason.

4. Repeated Non-Responsiveness:

  • Consequences for Ongoing Issues: If an equipment owner repeatedly fails to respond within the required timeframe, Rubbl may take further actions, including:
    • Temporarily suspending the listing of the equipment in question.
    • Permanently removing the equipment from the marketplace if non-responsiveness persists.
    • Limiting or restricting the owner's ability to list new equipment until consistent communication is re-established.
  • Rubbl will provide prior notice to the equipment owner before applying any penalties or suspensions, allowing an opportunity to address and rectify the issue.

5. Owner Responsibilities:

  • By listing equipment on Rubbl, owners agree to:
  • Owners are required to maintain accurate availability at all times for all listed equipment. This includes promptly updating the availability or unavailability of equipment through the Owner Fleet Management in their account to ensure the information always remains current.
  • The Owner agrees to honor the rental rate and commissions as specified at the time of listing the equipment. Owners shall not alter the rental rate once a transaction is in progress, even if a rental coordinator contacts the Owner regarding the ongoing transaction, until the order is fully fulfilled.
